Ever. This is not open for debate.

My fathers car is lowered, and very low in the back (cars need rake to look the best) and though it does rub if 2 people are back there, its really not bad other than that (Regular car reviews has bad egg)

I cant say that its the best driving because, well, ive only ever driven the E36, it was the first car i ever drove, the car i learned stick in, the love of my life since my father bought it when i was like 5

I will admit im a bit of a stance fan, but id never slam an E36 to the point where its undrivable, its just too cliche, for one..

I was just working on my fc in the garage and i looked over at my father's E36 (pictured) and said wow, thats the most beautiful M3 ever

notice how low it sits, no issues

so obviously the car holds a very special place in my heart, but i think even without that i would think the same of this car. The E30 is too boxy (still gorgeous), The E46 just doesnt do it for me, and while the E92 has a great stance and shape, i dont think it compares to the E36 (but its a close second)

I like the fact that they are rather understated in the looks department. I can't stand the lines of the convertible though.

I'll echo that. Clean, timeless, almost pedestrian, with tail lights akin to a '99 Honda Civic.. but when I think BMW, this is the car that comes to mind. A clear successor to the E30.

My wife had an E36 325is when we were dating. Put the gas down into the floorboard and that puppy would squat down and boogie. That was when it was 14 years old and had 200,000 KMs already. That thing would pull strong to 220 km/h plus.

Love them.. If I found a clean one for sale near me and it wasn't a vert I'd buy it as long as it's blue.. Which will never happen because there aren't any Blue E36 M3's for sale with a manual near me :(

E36 started off at first being that weird BMW with rectangle lights that I didn't like to it being my favorite BMW. I love them.

I can't stand the E36. I think it's the worst looking 3 series ever. IMO E30 is the best looking 3 series.

Sorry, no, that title goes to the E-46. The E-36, while it isn't "ugly", is the ugliest of the M3's...

I like it as well, though it certainly is up for debate as looking the best. I like its understated lines, and I think the stock ride height is very nice. Would never lower mine.

The E36 is, in my opinion one of the most "correct" looking cars out there. It's not the most aggressive M3, but it is the best looking.

I've only ever driven a 328i but it had a great M/T and was just a superb driving car all around. An E36 M3 is pretty high on my list of "cars i'll probably buy at some point in my life"

the e30 may be one of the best look 3 series. but the e30 m3 is not the best looking m3.

The E46 always looked like a bar of soap to me. Too rounded over and the several I’ve driven all felt exceedingly cheap inside.

I love the sharp classy understated look of the e36. It also feels much better put together to me when I sit in one.

E46 are great cars, I've had fun in them, but the looks just aren't great to me.
